Over millennia, the ancient belief that legendary objects can transfer magical powers to their users has, in modified form, found its way into the everyday lives of many people. Amateurs in particular seem to believe that a supposed professional tool may turn them into professionals themselves.
We address this fallacy by ironically exaggerating this “tool fetishism.” We exaggerate tools into religious objects of such spiritual significance that we have created an altar for them.
Created during an one-week workshop at University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf.
In collaboration with Yannic Sturm.
